About our Congregation

Growing in God’s Amazing Grace

Christ The King Lutheran Church, formed with a small group gathering on November 22, 1964, in the cafeteria of Bon Air Elementary School, is celebrating its Jubilee year in Richmond, Virginia. We worship at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM on Sundays (one 10:00 AM service during the summer), with weekly Holy Communion and nursery provided at both services. We offer Faith Formation for all ages between the services. Our adult, handbell and children’s choirs practice on Wednesday evenings, and our worship band, Cornerstone, rehearses on Thursday evenings.

Our members are active in ministries within the community. We participate with other local congregations in a Food Bank in Bon Air, VA. We are a host congregation in the CARITAS program. We provide assistance to those in the Virginia Supportive Housing program. And, in 2015, members traveled to Cristo Rey Lutheran Church in El Salvador to greet our brothers and sisters in Christ and work with them in a building project.

We welcome you, young and old, new to the area or long time Richmonder. Join us as we gather in worship and as we go to witness in our mission and vocation.
